The Saga Cont.

I thought you may want to follow the soap opera that I have been a part of ( ie: real life ).

So yesterday my friend and I took her oldest daughter JB to drug rehab. She is 16 1/2 and is starting to tumble out of control. We live in the lovely state of Pa., where the law states that anyone over the age of 14 years old has the right to make his/her own decisions about whether or not they need thearpy, including drug rehab. Also they may fill out their own paper work and put down whom ever they want as a contact person, Boyfriend, friend, whomever. So JB puts down her grandmother, who her mother is not speaking to right now, as a contact person. This means that the thearpist and such can not give her mother any info. My friend spent 8 hours on the phone trying to find out how she could check up on her daughter even though she wasn't on the contact list. Finally, JB's thearpist got her to sign a sheet stating that they could speak to her mother.
You thought that was the end of the drama didn't you?!
The next day the place calls saying that JB is signing herself out of rehab! Good thing this place is ffar away from home because she had no way of getting anywhere. Again, she was conviced to stay awhile. I am just shocked at home much power these kids have or something so serious! We need to write our congressman!!! I also want to know who thought this law was a good idea?
