Where the time went...

Let me see the time went to too many 60 hour work weeks, then when I wasn't doing that, I was busy sleeping too late. Now the time has come short and I have been getting up early, but not doing anything more productive with my time then what I was doing before. Where did my ambition go? That should be the real question.

Not sure

I'm not sure if anyone reads this blog anymore so I haven't been posting a lot.
I am sad that summer is over, it feels like it was such a waste. I hope anyone reading this didn't waste their summer. Happy Fall.

It is that time.....

No, not that time of month! Sick people. It is that time in every parents life to count the number of beers in the fridge. My husband swears there were two and now there is one. I pay no attention because I don't drink it, I drink the harder stuff. I hate to think that one of the kids would have taken it, espeically since the two I think could have done it are 12 and 13. I knew the time would come though. Well, ok I didn't know for sure because I never stole beer from anyone because it tasted nasty. I also know the time may come when my FIL may come up missing cigeretts however, that could be the kids hid them because they don't want him to smoke. LOL He won't think it is funny but, I'll laugh. Anyway, it is possible that one of my daughters friends took it. No matter what though we need to start keeping track of them.

My patient

My patient passed away on Friday morning. I wasn't there but I had been there less than 12 hours before. I was meant to be there that day, I am now sure of it. It was my daughters birthday on thurs. and I had asked them to find somelse so I could be with my kids. No one else could be found to take my spot so I went in all jacked off. I didn't let my patient know or see how upset I was. I held his hand often, he likes to know that a friend is there. I talked to him about going home the next day and how nice it would be to see him at his house and not the hospital. I showed a new nurse to the case what to do and I left, to finally go play with the kids and have cupcakes. Then the next morning he was gone. I was suppose to be there the day before just to say goodbye I think. I am now glad I was and sorry that I was so upset about being there. Next time I have to work when I don't want to I will have to remember that I have a higher purpose for being there, not just to work. It could be someone's last day, who knows.

So tired

My husband has been sick all week. I have been working with a sore throat and I am just plain and simple tired. I am getting loaded with hours which would be ok if I felt better. No more 60 hour weeks for a while though.I just wanted to check in and let anyone who cares know that yes, Virginia there is a Santa Clause. Oh, wait wrong line I'm alive. That is how the sentence should have ended.

The good and sad

My youngest girls held a lemonade stand the other day and raised money for a local animal shelter. They made $4.00, so mom kicked in some money and we went to buy some dog, cat and puppy food, plus litter. Then today we went to one of the animal shelters to donate the stuff. Ofcoarse, we had to visit the animals. While we were there my youngest cried, " I want them to all to go to a home." she cried. I reassured her that each one would find a nice home but, in the meantime they would enjoy the stuff that we brought. She says that her and her sister are going to hold another lemonade stand and do this again. It was hard for me to be there too. I always want to take home two or three animals. They had a lot of bunnies there today.
Well, my husband and I are going to the Pirates V. Yankees game but, first he has to do something for the radio station. Have a good day.

My Poor Bum

My Bum Bum hurts from horse back rideing yesterday. My husband and I took the kids and we had a blast.I think the most fun part was the different attitudes of the different horses. My husband horse had a major attitude. He tried to bite any horse that was next to or in front of him. My horse was the joker, when the horses got a drink of water he splashed everyone! Tiffany's horse was lazy, she was always way in the back. Felicity's horse sped up when he reliezed the barn was in sight. Jordan's horse was laid back and took it all in. We had a blast, they even let us have our horses run. That is a definate do again!!!

Home made chalk

I know you can buy sidewalk chalk at the dollar store, but this is fun and gets your frustrations out.
You need:
7 egg shells (dry)
1teaspoon flour
1table spoon water
paper towl


Crush egg shells the finest you can. Add flour and water. Stir toghether, this should make a paste. Shape, roll up in paper towel. Dry for 2 days. It really works, we tried it!

In my garden

In my garden is where I find peace,
Pulling the weeds, watching things grow.
In my garden I don't know,
what will come up,
what will be eaten.
It is here that I don't try to beat
those bugs that eat what I plant.
Oh, i try in small ways to stop them,
but is it here that small disappointments
float on the breeze.
Yes, I often sneeze,
pulling those weeds.
But when you have found your peace of mind,
it doesn't really matter,
come what may.
As long as those vines stay out!

End of the week

Thank godness it is the end of the week. I just finished a 60 hour work week and am so happy to be home. Last weekend I had to work a 24 hour day...isn't being a nurse fun! I really don't know how many hours I am going to end up with this coming week, but that is ok. Since I have some extra money I am going to take the kids horse back riding on my next day off. I just hope it is a bit cooler, not that I am complaining. Well, i hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far.

He didn't!?

My dog and his dog friend were playing outside the other day. There must of been something intersting on the ground because the "dog friend" stopped to have a look. At that same moment, in that same spot my dog lifted his leg and took a pee, right on his friend's head!! My mouth just hung open, I didn't know what to say or do. The other dog didn't seem to care, they went right back to playing. All the other owner and I could do was laugh. If it didn't bother them I guess ot shouldn't bother us, however the other owner did have to wash the other dog's head.

Mom needs quiet

I need some quiet time, away from the animals and the kids. Nobody wants to listen, not even the dog. Everyone wants to bicker about everything, even the dog and cat. I would have liked to go out side and watch the baby bird hop around and try to fly. I would have liked to weed my garden now that it finally stopped raining. I tried to sew the blanket I am making for my brother's new baby, couldn't do that either. Thank goodness it isn't that long until bed. Then I am going to curl up in bed and watch tv. Tomarrow will be another long day but it will be semi-peaceful. May peace find you.

Wet Weather

We have had some cooler, wet weather recently and it sucks! I was able to get my garden planted on the one afternoon that it was not raining, it did rain that night though. The only thing that is not in the ground are my tomato plants. I had to go to 3 different stores just to find some. Finally I found some and was going to plant them today but guess what the weather is like. Yep, cool and rainy. I hope all this rain is good for my plants. No flooding yet. My rose bush is doing ok. Well, it really hasn't done anything, not grown or died, it is just kind of there. I guess we will know in about 2 weeks if my garden will be coming up. Hope your weather is better then mine.

No movie night for Mom

So last night my 8year old wants to spend the night at her friends house and my 13 yo. wants to spend the night at her friends house. This is also the weekend that my son goes to J.O's house and we don't have my step-son. That leaves our 6 yo. here with us, crying. I tell her that we were going to have a nice mom, dad and JJ movie night with popcorn. This is GREAT, she loves the idea. In the middle of our movie and popcorn the phone rings, its our 8 yo. I hear from my husband " What's the matter?, What?" then, " she wants to talk to you".
" Mom I smashed my finger in the garage door and it hurts really bad. Jen's mom thinks it's broken." I say " ok be right there"
I drive up in my pj's and Fuzz (my 8yo) is sitting on the porch and I can hear her crying as soon as I turn off the engine. We go inside. The mom says Jen is hideing and crying because she thinks it is all her fault. My daughter pipes up and says " it was my fault for not paying attention". I tell her it is no ones fault it was just an accident. I look at the very white,pretty flat middle finger. I can tell that the nail will be black in the moring and her first knuckle is probley broken. No point in taking her to the hosp. because what they will do for her there I can do just as well and quicker at home. Before we leave her friend comes out of hideing, I thank her for being such a big help to my fuzz and say that if she is feeling better they can play the next day.
I get home, clean up the dirt on it, get two popsickle sticks ( thank you son for bringing home a box of them), medical tape, tape the sticks to the top and bottom of her finger so it can't move, give 3 advil and now I am tired. Never did finish movie night.

Wheels out, Legs in

The price of gas is getting out of control! It is about $3.55 here. Pretty soon I am going to have to do grocery shopping on the way home from work and then park it. We may have to cancel some things that we had planned to do in May and June and save the gas for work only! Maybe we should buy a horse, I think it would be cheaper. The Amish are probley laughing at us because they will be going more palces than us "English". Maybe I'll buy a horse and buggy off them and build a stable where my garden is and then instead of mowing the lawn the horse can eat my grass. That just may work! LOL! The good thing is that the more I walk and ride my bike the thinner I will be. Did you know that for every hour of exercise you will gain 2 hours of life. Talk about a good return on your investment!! Happy Spring!

DONE DONE DONE

My kitchen is done! It looks good. My husband says why don't you paint this ( in the kitchen ), I told him to be my guest. When it comes to paint I don't want anything to do with it for a while. I am going to be working a lot so I won't have time to blog.
My husband statrs his internship in two weeks! He is at the top of his class so he should get a good internship.
My oldest daughter has just turned 13! God save us all!
I must go my six year old is crying because she has nothing to do. I have plenty for her!!

No Title

Every muscle in my body hurts, even the entire bottom of my feet. I think I have a touch of the flu. I have felt like this for 3 days and the only thing that makes it better is Advil.
Since I am unwell we did not go try out for Deal or No Deal. My husband did obtain, through school, a free ticket to tonights Pirates vs. Reds game tonight. He is sitting in the FSN ( Fox Sports Net work) box!! I think that is so cool! I am so proud of him taking the chance and going to school. He is really opening up major doors for himself!!
